Export your customer list

Download your customers as a CSV file, and record who agreed to receive your marketing so you can build a mailing list.

You can download your customers as a CSV file, for a newsletter tool or your own records. Each customer also carries a marketing opt-in flag, so you can export only the people who agreed to hear from you.

Export customers to CSV

  1. Go to Operations → Customers.

  2. Optionally filter the list first — for example, switch on Marketing opt in, or pick a Country. See Find, add and edit your customers.

  3. Tick the customers you want (1), or tick the box in the table header to select them all.

  4. Click Bulk actions (2), which appears above the table, and choose Export CSV.

The file has one line per customer, with these columns: Name, Email, Phone, Country, Bookings, Total spent (cents), Currency, Last booking, Source and Marketing opt-in.

Total spent is given in cents, so 12500 means 125.00. Divide by 100 in your spreadsheet.

How marketing opt-in works

Marketing opt-in is a yes/no flag on each customer. Travelers set it themselves with the marketing tick box at checkout.

Samba sends no marketing email and never reads this flag. Booking confirmations, reminders, payment emails and your own messages go out whatever it says. It exists for you: to filter your list and to appear in the CSV.

Change it for one customer

  1. Open the customer.

  2. Click Actions → Opt in to marketing or Opt out of marketing, and confirm.

You can also switch Marketing opt-in on or off when you add or edit a customer.

Opt in several customers at once

  1. On the customer list, tick the customers.

  2. Click Bulk actions and choose Opt in to marketing, then confirm.

There is no bulk opt-out: opt customers out one at a time.
