On a booking with a payment plan you can collect money without waiting for the next due date. Manual charge charges the traveler's saved card now. Mark paid offline records money you received outside Samba.
Before you start
Both actions need the Owner, Admin, Manager or User role. Viewers see the payment plan but not the actions.
The booking needs a payment plan with a balance still to pay. Manual charge also needs a saved payment method on the plan.
Neither action is offered on GetYourGuide bookings.
Use | When | Samba commission |
Manual charge | The traveler asks you to take a payment early, or to settle everything now | Counts, like any card payment |
Mark paid offline | The traveler paid you by cash, bank transfer, check or another way | Does not count |
Charge the saved card
Open the booking and select Actions → Manual charge.
Choose Remaining balance, or Specific amount and enter any amount up to the outstanding balance.
Select Submit. The card is charged straight away.
The amount is taken off the unpaid installments, oldest first. An installment that is fully covered is canceled, and one that is partly covered is reduced, so the traveler is never charged twice for the same amount.
Record an offline payment
Open the booking and select Actions → Mark paid offline.
Choose the Method: Cash, Bank transfer, Check or Other. Add a Reference if you have one, such as the transfer reference.
Select Submit.
The action records the full amount of the next unpaid installment — the earliest one that is scheduled or failed — and marks it as paid. Nothing is charged to the card. To record several installments, repeat the action.
What happens next
The payment appears in the booking's Payments → Transactions tab.
When the balance reaches zero, the plan is completed, the booking becomes Paid, Samba issues the booking's invoice, and the traveler receives the "fully paid" email.
