Activating means putting a card on file with Samba. It starts your free Samba subscription, and it is what lets you start selling. There is no trial period and nothing to pay at that moment: your first $10,000 in bookings is commission-free, and Samba charges 2% after that.
Until your workspace is activated, three things are switched off:
Publishing an experience
Creating a booking
Accepting a booking request
Their buttons are grayed out, with a tooltip that explains why. Everything else works, so you can build your experiences and departures first and activate when you are ready. Nothing expires while you wait.
Before you start
Only the workspace owner can activate.
The Activate your workspace banner appears once Stripe is connected. If you still see the Connect Stripe banner, connect your Stripe account first.
Add your card
Select Activate your workspace → in the banner at the top of any page.
Enter your card details and your billing address. Add your tax ID if you have one; it is optional.
Select Activate workspace.
This card pays Samba, not your travelers' bookings. Travelers pay into your own Stripe account, which is a separate connection. See How payments work.
What happens next
The banner disappears, and Publish, New Booking and accepting requests become available.
Your billing address and tax ID are saved on your workspace for your Samba invoices. Samba's commission is later charged to this card. See How Samba's pricing works.
Your teammates can now open the workspace. Until it is activated, only the owner can enter it, even if others have accepted their invitation. See Invite your team.
