Travelers can pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay at checkout and in their booking portal. The payment goes through your connected Stripe account, like a card payment. Each wallet has its own switch, and both are off until you turn them on.
Before you start
Connect your Stripe account first.
You need the Owner, Admin or Manager role.
Wallets for Samba are switched on in Samba. Changing wallet settings in your Stripe Dashboard has no effect on your Samba checkout.
Switch a wallet on
Go to Settings → Connect Stripe.
In the Payment wallets section, switch on Apple Pay, Google Pay, or both.
Check the status under the wallet's name.
Status | Meaning |
Active | Travelers see the button |
Pending verification | The wallet is on, but Stripe has not validated the checkout domain yet. Travelers do not see the button. Select Re-check status to ask Stripe again |
Off | You have not switched the wallet on |
If Stripe cannot offer the wallet on your account, the switch goes back to off and Samba shows the reason.
If your checkout is embedded on your own website
Stripe only shows a wallet on websites registered for it. Samba's own checkout pages are registered for you. For a checkout embedded on your website, add that site under Checkout domains on the same page: enter the domain and select Add domain.
Samba may list Suggested domains — websites that recently loaded your widgets. Add only the ones you recognize as yours.
Where travelers see the wallet buttons
Where | Wallets offered? |
Checkout — paying in full, paying a deposit, or starting a payment plan | Yes |
Checkout for a booking request | No, card only |
Only when the link collects the booking's whole total in one payment. Otherwise card only | |
Booking portal — paying an installment | Yes |
Booking portal — updating the payment method | Yes |
The button also depends on the traveler's device and browser supporting the wallet. When it does not, they see the card form only.
Wallets and payment plans
A traveler who pays a deposit with a wallet is told at checkout that their remaining installments will be charged to that wallet automatically. Scheduled installments are then charged exactly as they would be on a card.
The one difference is in the portal: a traveler paying an installment themselves is not offered "pay with saved card" for a wallet. They approve the payment with their wallet again, or pay with a card.
What happens next
Turning a wallet off stops offering it immediately.
For the traveler's side, share Paying with Apple Pay or Google Pay.
