Turn on Resources

Switch on Resources to track the vehicles, boats, rooms and gear your trips share, and see what to set up next.

Resources let you track the vehicles, boats, equipment and rooms your experiences share, so a departure stops selling when something it needs has run out. It is off by default.

Before you start

Only an Owner or Admin can switch Resources on or off. A Manager does not see this switch.

Switch it on

  1. Go to Settings → General.

  2. Scroll to the Resources section and switch on Enable resource management.

  3. Select Save changes.

Your Settings sidebar's Operations group now lists Resources, next to the crew pages if you use Crew Management.

Each experience's edit form also gains a Resources tab. Once you attach a resource to an experience there, its departures' pages show a Resources section.

What happens next

Set things up in this order:

  1. Add your resources: one entry per pool of identical units, such as "Minibus, 2 units, 8 seats each".

  2. Tell each experience which resources it needs, per participant or for the whole departure.

  3. Check how resources limit availability on your departures and calendar.

When a vehicle goes in for service, record downtime so Samba stops selling the seats it would have carried.

What happens if I switch Resources off again?

Every resource screen is hidden and resources stop limiting what your departures sell. Nothing is deleted: switch it back on and your resources, their downtime, and the resources each experience needs are all still there.
