Change a departure's capacity when you get a bigger vehicle or lose a guide. Close it when you want to stop new bookings and keep the ones you have.
Change the capacity
Go to Calendar & Scheduling → Manage schedule and select the experience.
In All upcoming departures, type the new number in the departure's Capacity box and click outside it. It saves straight away.
Capacity must be at least 1. You can't set it lower than the seats already booked; participants who don't take a seat, such as infants, don't count. The same rule applies on the departure's edit page. To free seats first, move a booking to another date.
Changing a recurring schedule's capacity only affects departures created afterwards. Change existing departures here, one by one.
Close a departure to new bookings
Open the departure from the calendar, then select Actions → Edit.
Set Status to Sold out. You can change the Capacity here as well.
Select Save changes.
Travelers see the date as sold out. Existing bookings are not touched. To re-open it, set Status back to Scheduled.
What happens next
Samba also switches the status for you: the booking that takes the last seat makes the departure Sold out, and a cancellation that frees a seat makes it Scheduled again. Capacity works the same way: adding seats to a Sold out departure re-opens it, and cutting capacity down to what is booked closes it. A departure you closed by hand re-opens the same way, so check it again after one of its bookings or its capacity changes. Setting Status and Capacity together on the edit page keeps the status you chose.
To call the date off completely, see Cancel a departure.
Can I book someone onto a full departure?
Can I book someone onto a full departure?
Yes. When you create a booking yourself, you can go over capacity.
