Archive or restore an experience

Retire a trip you no longer sell without losing its booking history, and bring it back later as a draft.

Experiences cannot be deleted, because past bookings point to them. Archive a trip you no longer sell instead. Archiving takes it off sale everywhere and hides it across Samba, and keeps its booking history intact.

Before you start

Samba refuses to archive while something is still live on the trip. Clear these first:

  • an upcoming departure with a Pending or Confirmed booking: cancel the bookings or wait until the trip has run

  • an upcoming departure with a traveler in the middle of checkout, or a GetYourGuide reservation in progress

A multi-day trip that is under way still counts as upcoming until it ends.

Archive an experience

  1. Go to Settings → Experiences and open the experience.

  2. Choose Actions → Archive. The same action is on each row of the list.

The Actions menu with Archive outlined
  3. Read the confirmation. It says how many upcoming departures will be deleted and how many canceled.

The Archive this experience confirmation, listing the departures that will be deleted and canceled
  4. Click Archive. If something blocks it, a notice lists what, and nothing changes.

Upcoming departures with no bookings are deleted, and restoring the experience does not bring them back.

An archived experience stays in the folders it was in, but is never shown to travelers.

Restore an experience

  1. Go to Settings → Experiences and open the Archived tab.

The Experiences page tabs with Archived outlined
  2. Find the experience and use Restore. This tab is the only place it is offered.

The experience comes back as a Draft, and nothing else restarts on its own:

  • Publish it again when you are ready.

  • Resume its recurring schedules and GetYourGuide listings yourself.

  • Departures deleted by archiving are not recreated, and canceled ones stay canceled.

A booking came in while I was confirming the archive. What happens?

Samba checks again when the archive runs. The archive is refused and the notice lists the new booking.
