The Dashboard is the first page you see after signing in. It shows four headline numbers, three cards for things that need your attention, two charts and your next ten departures, all for the current workspace. Field staff do not have a dashboard; they land on their crew pages instead.
The numbers in the picture match the sections below: the period toggle (1), the headline numbers (2), the action cards (3), the charts (4) and upcoming departures (5).
The four headline numbers
Number | What it counts | Follows the period toggle |
Revenue | The full total of every booking that is Confirmed right now and was confirmed in the period. It is what you sold, not what you have been paid. | Yes |
Net collected | Money that actually moved in the period: successful payments, plus customer credit applied to bookings, minus refunds. Never shown below zero. | Yes |
Active bookings | Confirmed bookings on departures that have not started yet. | No |
Inflow next 30d | Payment plan installments still scheduled and due in the next 30 days, on bookings that are not canceled. | No |
Amounts are shown in your workspace currency, rounded to whole units. If you sell in more than one currency, Samba adds each currency up on its own and converts the others into your workspace currency at the latest exchange rate; a note under the number tells you, for example "USD converted to EUR". A currency Samba has no exchange rate for is shown beside the figure in its own currency and left off the charts, and the note says how much is not charted. Bookings where checkout was started but not paid count nowhere on the dashboard.
The period toggle
The toggle changes only Revenue and Net collected. Everything else on the page ignores it.
Option | Period | "vs prior" compares with |
Month to date (default) | The 1st of this month until now | The same number of days at the start of last month |
Year to date | 1 January until now | The same stretch of last year |
Last 12 months | The past 12 months | The 12 months before that |
When the earlier period was zero, "vs prior" shows a dash instead of a percentage.
Why Revenue and Net collected differ
Take a €1,000 booking confirmed on 10 March with a €300 deposit, and the €700 balance paid on 5 May.
Revenue shows €1,000 in March, the day the booking is confirmed.
Net collected shows €300 in March and €700 in May, when each payment arrives.
Until May, the €700 sits in Inflow next 30d once its due date is within 30 days.
If that booking is canceled later, it drops out of March's Revenue, because only bookings that are Confirmed today are counted. The payment and any refund stay in Net collected in the months they happened. This is why a past month's Revenue can go down.
The action cards
Each card shows a live count and a Review link.
Card | Counts | Review opens |
Pending booking requests | Requests waiting for you to accept or decline | The booking requests list, filtered to pending. See Respond to a booking request. |
Pending cancellation requests | Traveler cancellation requests waiting for your answer | The cancellation requests list, filtered to pending. See Handle cancellation requests. |
Overdue installments | Installments whose charge failed, plus scheduled installments past their due date, on bookings that are not canceled | The bookings list, filtered to the bookings with an overdue installment. See When an installment fails. |
The overdue count is a number of installments, not bookings. One booking with two missed installments counts twice.
The charts and the departures list
Bookings volume (last 12 months) has one bar per month for Revenue as defined above, and a line for the number of those bookings.
Cashflow (±6 months) covers the six months before this one, this month, and the five after. Collected is Net collected for the month and, unlike the headline number, can go negative when refunds exceed payments. Scheduled is installments still due that month. A past month keeps a Scheduled amount until that installment is paid, fails or is canceled.
Upcoming departures lists your next ten departures that are not canceled, with seats filled against capacity and the total of their Confirmed bookings. Select a row to open the departure.
