See your schedule and tasks as a crew member

For guides, drivers and other crew — find the departures you are on, tick off your tasks, and record your time off.

If your company added you to Samba as crew, you get your own pages under Personal in the sidebar: Schedule and Tasks. You only ever see your own assignments, tasks, and time off — never a colleague's.

With the Field staff role, these are the only pages you have, and you land on Tasks when you sign in.

Check which departures you are on

  1. Select Personal → Schedule. Days you are working show a green departure count.

  2. Select a day. The list below the calendar shows that day's departures with your Role and the rest of the Crew.

There is nothing to accept or decline. Once a manager assigns you, you are on the departure. If you cannot make a date, contact your manager directly.

Select Overdue tasks to narrow the list to departures where you have something overdue.

Complete your tasks

  1. Select Personal → Tasks.

  2. Tasks are grouped by urgency: Overdue, Today, Next 7 days, Later, and No due date. Each one names its departure and due date.

  3. Tick a task when you have done it. Select its title to read the full description first.

Ticked something by mistake? Select Show completed and untick it to reopen it.

You see tasks given to you by name, plus tasks for your role on departures you are confirmed on. If several of you hold that role, you all see the task and any one of you can complete it.

Record your time off

  1. On Schedule, select Manage time off.

  2. Select Add time off.

The My time off page with one entry and the Add time off button outlined
  3. Leave All day ticked for whole days, or untick it to set a time range within a day.

  4. Set Starts and Ends, add a Note if you like, and select Create.

It counts as soon as you save — nobody has to approve it.

Time off warns your manager when they assign you. It does not take you off a departure you are already on, and your manager is not told. If you add time off over an existing assignment, tell them yourself.

What happens next

  • You are emailed when you are assigned, when an assignment is canceled or its dates change, and when a task is due soon.

  • About two days before each departure you get a roster with your role, your fellow crew, your open tasks, and how many travelers to expect. See Crew notifications.

I can't see Schedule or Tasks

Your manager has not added you as a crew member yet, or your crew record was archived. Until then you land on your profile page. Ask a manager to add you under Members.

Why can't I reopen a task?

Tasks on a canceled departure are closed for good.
