A day tour is priced with participant types: Adult, Child, Senior and so on. Each type has its own price, and travelers choose how many of each are coming. Checkout charges the sum. A day tour needs at least one participant type before you can publish it.
To charge one total for the whole group instead, see Price a day tour by party size.
Add participant types
Go to Settings → Experiences, open the day tour, and click Edit.
Open the Pricing & Participants tab.
In Participant types, click Add Participant Type.
Enter a Name and a Price. A price of 0 is allowed, for free types such as infants.
Optional: add a Description. Travelers see it under the type's name at checkout, for example "Must be accompanied by an adult".
Optional: under Per booking, set a Min and Max to limit how many of this type one booking can include. This does not change the capacity of your departures.
Turn on Doesn't take a seat for travelers who need no seat, such as lap infants. They are not counted against the departure's capacity.
Click Save changes.
You can also add up to 5 photos per type under Images. Travelers see a thumbnail at checkout and can open the photos full-size.
Add pickup points
On the same tab, in Pickup points, click New Pickup Point.
Enter the Place name and Address.
In Pickup offset (minutes before start), enter how long before the departure start you collect travelers there. With 30 on a 09:00 departure, the traveler sees an 08:30 pickup.
Under Pin location, click the map or use its search to set the exact spot.
Click Create.
As soon as a day tour has one pickup point, travelers must choose one at checkout. This applies to fixed dates and to booking requests.
What happens next
Your trip page, trips list and widgets show a "from" price: the range across your paid types, for example "€45 – €85", or one figure when they all cost the same. Free types are ignored.
Travelers always pay a day tour in full at checkout. A payment plan set on a day tour has no effect.
Need a different price on one date? Price that departure on its own.
Can I delete a participant type that has bookings?
Can I delete a participant type that has bookings?
Yes. Past bookings keep the name and price they were sold with. Deleting a type also removes any prices you set for it on specific departures.
Why can't I delete a participant type?
Why can't I delete a participant type?
An active GetYourGuide listing uses it. Samba shows "Pause the GetYourGuide listing first" and saves nothing. Pause the listing, then delete the type. See Selling on GetYourGuide.
Do GetYourGuide bookings need a pickup point?
Do GetYourGuide bookings need a pickup point?
No. A booking that comes from GetYourGuide is accepted without one. The pickup choice is only mandatory at Samba checkout.
