Price a day tour by party size

Charge one total for the whole group instead of a price per person, for private tours, charters and group activities.

Some trips make more sense priced per group than per person: a private tour, a boat charter, a team activity. With By party size pricing, you set one total for each group size, and checkout charges that total for the whole booking. It is never split or billed per person.

Party-size pricing is available on day tours only.

Before you start

  • Set the Group size Max on the General tab. It is the largest party you sell, and checkout refuses a bigger one.

  • To refuse small parties, set the Min party size on the Manage schedule page first. See Understanding availability and departures. The Group size Min on the General tab is only shown to travelers and does not count.

Set up your party prices

  1. Go to Settings → Experiences, open the day tour, and click Edit.

  2. Open the Pricing & Participants tab.

  3. Under Pricing, choose By party size.

The Pricing switch with By party size outlined
  4. Keep at least one participant type. Travelers still choose how many of each type are coming, and that head count picks the price. The types no longer carry a price of their own.

  5. In Party size pricing, enter a Party total for each size. A row you leave empty takes the total of the nearest smaller priced row.

  6. Optional: turn on Show prices per person to travelers and pick the Reference row to advertise.

  7. Click Save changes.

Samba refuses the save, and blocks publishing, unless every row is priced above zero.

A row that totals less than the row before it shows a warning, but you can still save it.

What travelers see

Show prices per person to travelers

"From" price on your trip page, trips list, widgets and checkout

Off

The cheapest party total, as one figure, with no "per person" wording.

On

The reference row's total divided by its size, with "per person". For example, a reference row of 4 people at €300 shows "From €75 / person".

With per-person display on, checkout leads with the per-person rate and shows the party total beside it. Checkout also opens pre-filled at the reference party size, up to the seats left on that departure.

What happens next

  • Existing bookings and pending booking requests keep the price they were sold under. Your change only affects new sales.

  • If you raise the group size max later, Samba adds rows priced like your previous top row, so no price changes by surprise. If you lower it, the rows above the new max are removed the next time you save this tab.

  • Need a different total on one date? Price that departure on its own.

Why is the Pricing switch locked?

The experience has an active GetYourGuide listing, and the listing's prices come from the current pricing mode. Pause the listing to switch. See Selling on GetYourGuide.

Why can't I switch back to Per participant type?

Every participant type is priced at zero. Types added while you priced by party size are stored at 0. Give at least one type a price in the same save, and the switch goes through.

How do I start my prices at 5 people?

Raise the Min party size to 5 on the Manage schedule page first. Your first row must start at or below the smallest party you accept.

How is a party-priced trip listed on GetYourGuide?

Always as a private or group product, because there is no per-person price to send.
