Create an experience

Add a new trip or activity to Samba, fill in its pricing and content, and get it ready to publish.

An experience is a trip or activity you sell. You create it in a few fields, then fill in pricing and content at your own pace. It stays a private Draft until you publish it.

Before you start

Decide whether you are selling a Multi-day tour or a Day tour / activity. The type sets how the experience is priced and scheduled, and it cannot be changed later. See Multi-day trips and day tours.

Create the experience

  1. Go to Settings → Experiences and click New Experience.

The Experiences page with the New Experience button outlined
  2. Choose the Type.

  3. Enter the Title, Duration, Difficulty and Group size. The group size Max is required: it is the default capacity of each new departure.

The Create Experience form with the Type choice outlined
  4. Click Create. Samba saves the experience as a draft and builds its web address from the title.

Fill in the details

The editor has one tab per topic. Work through them, then click Save changes.

The editor tabs: General, Pricing & Participants, Content and Communication

Tab

What you set there

General

Title, duration, difficulty, group size, web address and search settings.

Pricing & Participants

Packages for a multi-day tour, or participant types and pickup points for a day tour. Also the payment plan, add-ons, cancellation policy and the information you collect from travelers.

Content

Cover image, description and the blocks that make up your trip page.

Communication

Crew

Shown only when Crew Management is on. The crew roles this trip needs.

The form saves as a whole. If one field on any tab has an error, nothing is saved on any tab. A notice names the problem: fix it and save again.

The Completeness bar above the tabs shows how far along you are. Click What's left? to see what is still missing.

What happens next

Is there a limit on how many experiences I can create?

No. You can create as many as you need.

What is the difference between Group size min and the minimum party size?

Group size min on the General tab is shown to travelers for information and enforces nothing. The smallest booking checkout accepts is the Min party size on the Manage schedule page. It is 1 when left blank, and cannot be higher than the group size max.

Can I delete an experience?

No, because past bookings point to it. Archive it instead.
